Early life and education

Kashian completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University before attending the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1981.^[3][6] He remained at the University of Illinois for his residency training in internal medicine, which he completed between 1981 and 1984.^[7]

Medical career

Kashian is board certified in internal medicine and has practiced medicine for more than 40 years.^[2][6] He entered private practice on Chicago's North Shore in 1985 and is the founding member of Orchard Medical Group, an internal medicine practice based in Skokie, Illinois.^[3]

Throughout his career, Kashian has held hospital affiliations with several major Chicago-area health systems, including Endeavor Health NorthShore Hospitals (Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital, and Skokie Hospital).^[1][7][8] His practice focuses on comprehensive primary care for adults, including preventive health services, chronic disease management, and the diagnosis and treatment of complex medical conditions.^[6]

Following the 1988 Armenian earthquake, which killed an estimated 75,000 people and left hundreds of thousands homeless, Kashian and his wife Rozik were asked to assist with ongoing relief efforts in the region.^[4][14] Out of this work, the couple founded the Armenian Relief Mission (ARM), a charitable organization with a long-term commitment to improving the lives of people in Armenia.^[4]

By 1995, ARM had established a permanent medical clinic in Vanadzor, Armenia, which provides medical care to the surrounding region and is staffed entirely by native Armenian medical professionals.^[14] Beyond the clinic, the organization distributes clothing, medication, and humanitarian aid, runs children's summer camps, and has installed playgrounds throughout the region for more than two decades.^[4][14]
